A new award for my blog…

Jim Wright, a fellow author, a blogger and a man who shares the same passion I have for history has nominated me for the Liebster Award, as you can see, we both have many things in common, so why not share the same award dedicated for our blogs? Thank you my friend! I really appreciate your kind gesture.

liebsteraward

– Now, before we roll the red carpet, let’s discuss the rules:

  • When you receive the award, you post 11 random facts about yourself and answer the 11 questions asked by the person who nominated you.

  • Pass the award onto 11 other blogs (while making sure you notify the blogger that you nominated them!)

  • You write up 11 NEW questions directed towards YOUR nominees.

  • You are not allowed to nominate the blog who nominated your own blog!

  • You paste the award picture into your blog. (You can Google the image, there are plenty of them!)

So as you can see, today you’ll learn 22 things about me, have fun everyone:-

11 random facts about Moi:-

1. I was a real big trouble maker when I was a kid and I placed myself in so many predicaments because of that… which explains why I’m not bad anymore.

2. My favorite color is white because, like me, it is a reflection of all the other colors.

3. One of the things I’m proud of is the fact that I was born before my time and when I was delivered I didn’t cry… that’s how they tell me it happened.

4. When I was a kid they hid the fact that I was originally from Iraq, when I found out at the age of 9, I cried because my image of Iraq is Sadam, but it opened my mind and made me realize we are not passports, we are human.

5. If I want to be honest with myself, I’d say I want to accomplish in my life more than I want to get married. But who knows, maybe someone will bewitch me someday.

6. I have a half brother who, not since the last two years, I only see 3 days a year because our vacations never fit, the closest I have ever felt to him was when he called me from Australia after he read my book. He told me ‘I’m proud that the one who wrote this book is my young brother’. He lives where we live now with his wife and adorable kids.

7. Kids used to bully me when I was a kid myself. I don’t know if it was because I was getting high scores or it was because I used to be in the school music band, but once I looked at an old picture of mine and I though ‘I deserved it’.

8. My favorite pet is a cat, I like all pets, but a cat’s curiosity is a good show to watch.

9. I LOVE video games, the ones with a good story in them. I believe they are right now the best form of story telling because you can interact and decide the outcomes. And the soundtrack is always amazing.

10. I love playing football (sorry Americans for the confusion, I meant soccer) and I really like watching matches.

11. My biggest dream is becoming a director and a screen writer… which hopefully will be my next step once I know how to approach that dream.

Questions from Jim L Wright

A pen, my notebooks and my laptop.

No strikes, no business.

I would be Santiago from the Alchemist by Paulo Coehlo, everything about that boy reminds me of me, even my own mother said that when she read the book.

5. If someone wrote a book about your life, what would be the title?

No matter who you are, it’s not always who you’ll become.

Fighting with my brothers, we were always on the fight for power… or more attention, I can never tell.

8. If you could be a religious or spiritual leader, who would it be? Why?

Honestly I have no good answer for that, but there is a great great grandfather who was a leader and a poet who always fought for what’s right, I hope I’ll live up to his name.

Ryo, my first friend ever, he was the Kid from Korea who lived right behind our old house.

Interesting responses. And all this time I thought you were married and had kids. I misinterpreted a blog post obviously. I am sure there are plenty of ladies where you are from who are very happy to know this!

I will do my best… LOL. It may take me a day or two, but I will post as soon as I can! Thanks for thinking of me… 😀

    • ahamin · December 7, 2012

Take all the time in the world. You are welcome, you do deserve it! 🙂

  5. Story Addict · December 7, 2012

Wow, this is really intense lol. It’s gonna take me a while to dissect it. First, I gotta say, I don’t think anyone deserves to be bullied. Ever. No matter how they look or act, how strange they may be, no human being deserves mistreatment, and neither did you. Second, high five, fellow cat lover! Curiosity rules 🙂 And finally, I wish all stories could transform into video games; that would be amazing. Don’t ever be ashamed of who you are, were, or where you came from. And I bet anything you can achieve that dream!

Thanks again for the nomination 🙂

    • ahamin · December 7, 2012

I know, no one deserve to be bullied, but if you can’t laugh about yourself from time to time, then what’s the point 🙂
You do look like a cat lover 🙂
Waw, a game lover too, you are the perfect woman any man would dream of.
Thanks for your kind words, Margaret !

      • Story Addict · December 9, 2012

Lol, thanks, Ahmed. That’s true, it’s always healthy and of good character to laugh about yourself.

    • ahamin · December 7, 2012

Yeah, bullies… they did made my life interesting, 😀
I wanted to nominate you, but I saw that you have already got that and I also didn’t want you to feel guilty like the last time 😀
But… I do want you to answer the questions, I would like to know what will your answers be.

Thank you for your kind wishes, Paula. You have a great weekend too.

      Amin

  7. JasmineKyleSings · December 7, 2012

I like your favorite color reasoning. It’s very well thought out. I can’t choose…

    • ahamin · December 7, 2012

The choice of a color is all about what represent you and not just what looks good on you :). And who knows you more than you.
Which color do you think would say more about you?
If you want to, you can answer my questions down below, it’ll be fun.

      ~ Amin

      • JasmineKyleSings · December 7, 2012

Oh I would never judge a color by clothing I dress like a MIT student! LOL I usually judge it by what pleases the eye. I am attracted to Cyan. But If I had to choose a color to define my self it would have to be orange! I am passionate, complex, not easy to gauge, but you can’t take your eyes off me, and usually you can’t figure out why. Thanks for the challenge. Please feel free to work out my brain when ever you want at my blog! Have a great Weekend!

      • ahamin · December 7, 2012

        Likewise, will do 🙂

  8. alicebrook1502 · December 7, 2012

    There, everything’s answered 🙂

    • ahamin · December 9, 2012

Thanks, Paula! 🙂 I really appreciate your support.

Okay, I said I would, so hear goes!!
    Naomi Watts.
I dream of spiders falling on me. *Ack*
First thing I cuddle my cat! Talking to my sons and reading everything and anything!
A little reckless: I would drink, travel and remind my sons everyday how much they meant to me!
Easy! I’m already a nana *laughing* I suggested Joel and won! *yeah*
Yes! Cant say this one. *sorry*
    All but my children!
    Sakura
I was 16 and had come to stay for the night with my sister and her family.Sleeping on the floor of their bar room, I thought my sister called me. I turned around and saw this image staring at me, it felt like forever even though it was just a second! I screamed and as I got up it came closer and I went right through it. I was hysterical and jumped on my sisters bed. Her then husband laughed when I said what happened. Apparently this was not the first or last time it happened. I had left my son on the floor who was only 6 weeks old. My sister came back with me to get my son and I slept in one of her kids beds.
I ended up living with them for about 1 year and this never happened again. They said they thought it was his grandfather who had lived and died there. Who knows? I know what I saw and have no real answer!
Felt weird telling you about this, your book etc!! *I’m not crazy!*
Done it! Bought a sports car..got over it! *laughing* sold it! Now drive a Honda Jazz.
I feel I’ve known you before!
    Done. xx

      Amazing! 🙂
      – Naomi Watts, hmm? She was my first love. 🙂 Now it’s Natalie Portman.
      – My recurrent dream is someone trying to break into my apartment to rob me, and I try to fend him away, it happened once while I was asleep, woke up finding nothing there. I think he drugged me. 🙂
      – I enjoy, writing, reading and exercise to drain my day away.
      – I would travel too, and write as fast as I can to leave something behind.
      – My first kid will hopefully be called Adam
      – I would have changed my engagement to my ex-fiance.
      – My planet will be called Sanctuary; a home for all, no borders, one nationality.
      – My unexplainable incident can be somewhat explained, it was during my senior year in high school, I was 17, and I was strained from studying for my finals, I had little sleep so that’s why it happened I guess. I was in the living room studying and my eyes were hardly maintained open, suddenly, I saw a cube in the couch in front of me, I went to it and then it started to float in front of me as if there was no gravity in the room, it started to shine, I reached for it, but once my hand was close, it disappeared.
      – My middle age crisis will be getting a license for base jumping and parachute jumping, also a motorcycle 🙂
      – ‘We are the moments of our lives, we shared familiar obstacles, so it is not a strange thing to feel like we known each other before’ That would be my answer to you. 🙂

      • sakuraandme · December 11, 2012

That’s comforting and well written! Mmmm, maybe that’s why your a writer! *laughing* hugs my friend!! xx

  10. ketch1714 · December 10, 2012

Wow! What I love about these awards is I get to learn a little more about my friends. And you have lived what sounds like an amazing life. I even share some of your answers:

    * “I want to accomplish in my life more than I want to get married.”
    * “My favorite pet is a cat,” – I think you be entertained by my two tabbies. They are hilarious at times.
    * And I definitely wouldn’t be able to live without my pen, my journals, and my laptop. I protect them like they were my living, breathing children. 😀

    Congrats of the award!

    • ahamin · December 10, 2012

      Thanks! 🙂
Waw, we do have lots in common. I like learning more about my friends and mostly I like seeing that we do share the same thoughts sometimes.
