Felix Vs. Jeepers Creepers

Have you ever had that conversation once like a very long time ago and years later you continued that conversation? Well… that is what had happened today. A conversation started ten years ago in 2003 inside a cinema theater in Emirates, and the conversation was put to an end a couple of hours ago while I was in my car waiting for the traffic light to show my favorite color in the streets.

In 2003, me and my friend went to watch a movie called Jeepers Creepers 2, and for those who don’t know that movie (spoilers alert) it’s about a creature that wakes up every 23 years for 23 days to feed on people, who can also fly and has supernatural powers that will dampen the chances of survival to zero.It was alright for a horror survival movie.

The thing that started the conversation was a scene in the movie, where everything happened so quickly my friend thought that the creature flew so fast he broke the sound barrier which caused the window of the bus to shatter (Which was not the case).

And that’s when the conversation suddenly started:-

‘That’s impossible’ My friend said.

‘What?’

‘What just happened was impossible’ He complained again.

‘What are you talking about?’ I gave the movie a timeout to see what was bothering him.

‘He just broke the sound barrier’

‘So?’

‘No living thing can survive that? It is impossible’ He said while he was still looking at the screen, he of course turned to face me when he sensed my look.

‘Are you serious??’ I simply said ‘A creature that wakes up every 23 years to eat people who flies and that’s what you decided is not real?’

He laughed out loud.

‘I know it is a fantasy but if they want to insert something in our world they should at least keep what’s real’

‘The conversation didn’t continue because the creature didn’t break anything except the roof of the bus, which was the reason why the window shattered.

10 years later, at a traffic light. Yours truly was waiting, my car was the first car in the traffic light. I always get some sense of responsibility when my car is the first car in the traffic light. Anyhow, I was looking at a poster of a Watch commercial. I worked for a while as a watches salesman, so I can recognize a Zenith watch when I see one. And the commercial had a famous icon wearing that timepiece, a man who recently fell from heaven into the earth. The one and only, Felix Baumgartner. I picked my phone and prayed for the traffic light to stay red as long as possible.

My friend answered by saying hello. I didn’t say hi back, I immediately continued what we started ten years ago.

‘Remember the movie Jeepers Creepers 2?’

‘Yeeeees??’

‘Remember that time when you got upset because he broke the sound barrier?’

‘Alright??’

‘Remember Felix?’

There was a momentary silence.

‘The man who broke the sound barrier when he jumped… Why?’

‘Well he’s fine and you were wrong’ He laughed and the traffic light turned green.

The moral of the story is… Enjoy the movie and let the scientists worry about Hollywood’s mistakes.

Before I take a break from blogging I want to leave you with a video I’d like to share. It’s called (People are awesome). It is inspiring and provokes the awe in us. It shows people who are trying to be more than just people. The music is good too… Oh Hey! Felix is in there too!

Lol. Oh, I don’t know if you would like watching that movie with me then. First off, I usually can’t watch horror without running for cover in the next room. And second, if I was able to sit through the movie without freaking out, I would probably try to analyze everything about it afterwards. The physics, the biology of the monster and habitat, what the main character could have done and other outcomes that could have occurred… Honestly, I think I drive people insane. 😀

Have good break! See you soon. 🙂

      Thanks! 🙂
I won’t say a thing if I ever went to a movie with you, but expect a call from me after ten years 🙂

Morning Amin, I’m so jealous of how fearless these people are! My oldest son liked doing stunts on his motorbike. He loved seeing me cover my eyes out of fear he would fall! Crazy boy. As for the movie? Not my thing.
Have a great break. hugs Paula x
