Kids say the darnedest things

The following conversation took place today between me and my five year old nephew.

Nephew: Uncle, I want to grow up to be big.
Me: why, kiddo?
Nephew: So I can be able to punch.
Me: Who do you want to punch?!
Nephew: I want to be able to punch girls.
Me: No, kiddo. That is not right. You don’t hit anyone.
Nephew closes his eyes, shaking his head dramatically and says: I’m sorry uncle, but I have to do it.

What had happened to him that made him decide that it is his destiny to do that. I laughed so hard at that. Apparently he is pushed around by his two sisters and he is kind of annoyed from them. I love that kid.
He asked me how to spell my last name (Amin) and he wrote the letters in the air. I could have swore that he wrote Agru instead.

That’s him, really cute and funny.

  1. Careful, some girls might punch back. LOL. I have two second cousins about your nephew’s age. Not sure how they feel about girls their own age, but I know they like me. πŸ™‚

  2. Poor baby!!! I tell my daughter all the time be nice to your brother now because if you are not gentle and sweet to him he will be rough with you when he gets bigger. She’s a very gentle girl usually but she was playing a little rough with him. She’s sweeter to him now and he is gentler with her.

    • Good for him. The reason why he said that is because they are older and they get dibs on anything in the house.
But I took him out that so things are under control… For now πŸ™‚

      • I think siblings have the disadvantage of having short site as far as long term relationships are concerned. I hope they are much nicer to him because one day they will want his attention. Poor little thing!
He must LOVE you do death to tell you about his problem. He is VERY fortunate!
