How do they know it is empty space? What may be empty may be something that cannot be seen.
Maybe… People used to say that atoms are the smallest things, but we have split them into components like neutrons and electrons.
Then again, we are existing in a planet situated in space, and we are only a grain of sand compared to the abyss of the universe. 🙂
