I am the tomb-raider of reviewers; I search for hidden and rare gems that deserve more appreciation.
Today I will be talking about one of my favorite fantasy sagas, and in my opinion, an underappreciated tales with memorable characters.
We all crave for a good tale; searching for a portal to take us out of this world and hope we end up somewhere inspiring. This is how it started with my tale, Kima. One day in 2009, I was still a student with hopes and dreams and so many shapeless tales living within me. I casually went online to check my email. That’s when I came across to an article about beached whales in South Africa; which some might know as “Death Stranding”. On that day, I read the article and I came across something that puzzled me. The article mentioned that this started first in South Africa on Christmas Eve, 1928. This sparked my curiosity and made me think about why it happened? Who was there? How did it affect the people; to see something like that for the first time? A story started to take form, and I was already working on my first novel “Psychs” at the time. So, I did some research about life in 1928, South Africa, to see if I’ll get some good materials for my story. And that’s when I came across to something that might be the reason why whales go out from the sea. That day, and three rewrites later, have brought us to this moment, where a folk tale is now making its way out one reader at a time.
I’m writing today to present some of those readers who happened to have enjoyed the story and the message I am trying to spread throughout the world. Here is what you can learn about my dimension, my portal to fantasy that is based on reality and real experiences. I hope you can visit and support that message, and help spreading Kima, an inspirational light tale with a heavy message.

Christmas Eve 1928 gave birth to a yearly phenomenon in South Africa. A herd of false killer whales were found beached upon the shore. It has also given birth to the story of two young children who meet an old woman named Kima. Kima somehow knows why this has happened, but that’s not all she knows. The children, Alex and Alice, realize that there is more to this woman that what meets the eye, and ear. She will reveal to them a tale, a mysterious story she claims was passed on to her by a mythical Black Seagull.
Derived from both historic tales and figures, Kima is a fictional character portrayed in a way that makes her become real.

The giveaway will be open until June 13th, when the winners will be drawn and awarded.
Here’s what you are allowed to know about Shadows of Penumbra (Blurb):
Seven sins. Seven souls. Seven weapons.
Something sinful resides in Diane’s memories, she’s certain of it. That’s why she traded them in to protect her father and her best friend.
Trained in the task of erasing criminal masterminds’ memories, Diane yawns at the notion of converting yet another Rebel. But when her target turns out to be a little less than human and a bit more than demon, a whole new breed of beings invade Diane’s world and lure her into another dimension, where the world is a ruined, enchanted mirror of reality.
Some of them are ideal doppelgangers of humans called Shadows; others are hybrids with sinister intentions. And they’re about to reveal a lot more than the reason for the trauma in her past or why the world is ending. Like who are the biggest pawns in a conspiracy to “perfect” mankind. Diane must push her mind past all limits and master a set of elements no human has ever controlled to stand any chance of confronting the organization responsible.
After they’re through with her, the Shadows give her a choice: to live the life she’s always wanted or conquer seven powerful devices that will even the odds. Good thing Diane always has a trick up her sleeve, and a partner in crime…

Psychs is a story that tells the history and future of a man named Hassan, explaining how his tragic event of his birth caused eight spirits to be connected to his existence, and how he started to build his relationship with them and the people around him. His history which revealed through a form of flashbacks will explain the reason why Hassan decided to pursue psychology as an academic life – which will prove to be rewarding sometimes – and then a military life as a way to put his ability to good use, using the spirits for his advantage which will give him an edge.
Another story unravels to introduce a man named Adam Goldfish; a person who was a U. S. Marine and for thirteen years presumed to be dead. The story of Adam reveals how he was betrayed by his superior and how he had spent thirteen years in a prison away from home. Adam Goldfish, also known as Shark in the story, will execute one of the greatest escapes of his time, and he will seek the one who took more than time away from him.
United, but not from the start, by a common enemy, Hassan and Adam will collaborate, the former will do so to see an end to the chaos the country is experiencing, the latter to see through his revenge… and both to try to survive from the unknown.
I can do better
Yesterday, one of my best friends who lives abroad visited me. I haven’t seen him for 2 years and we stayed in contact through the social networks, and since I share my news and updates with everyone, he was bound to learn that his best friend has a fiction thriller out there.
I took him to P. F. Changs for lunch, and then we went to shop in the Grand Avenues. That’s when he gave me the book to sign it for him.
Here’s what I wrote (translated from Arabic):-
To my dear friend
With this book I dedicate my greatest wishes of health, wealth and prosperity for you and all your beloved ones.
Don’t forget that I paid a lot for today’s lunch. (I wrote the bill for him)
Long Live Play (he’s a very big fan of video games and this phrase is famous among gamers)
I wrote the date, signed it for him and then wrote a witness section where our third friend signed too.
I have signed my book a couple of times before, but that one was special to me. He have already read my thriller and it was his cup of tea. He gave me the support that every author in the world needs. It is that support that keeps us going on to create and polish our stories… they make things easier for us.
