Sooner Than Ever…

Hello everyone!!

Yes, it’s been too long now ever since I started pouring gas on that spark I called Iblis, the second book in my series, which can stand alone on its own. July was supposed to be the date, and guess what… it still is.

The second book in the Psychs series will be released in a blink now. So today, other than giving a shout out, I wanted to post some previous materials like the youtube videos I’ve posted and the book cover, just to refresh my blog and to give some new readers an idea about what is to come.

Iblis… the second book of the Psychs series. A fiction thriller that follows the story of a man named Hassan with eight ghosts by his side. Armed with their knowledge and strengthened with their help, he will use their ghostly features, and his many skills to have a chance at a personal score.

Here is the synopsis:

Following his leads, Hassan will find himself roaming the streets of London for reprisal. Even with eight spirits by his side, which are connected to him by the tragic event of his birth, he will feel outnumbered, going against the Minerva Group and its limitless arsenal of agents and brutes. Hassan will desperately try his best to stay out of their reach until he finds a way to cut his losses short.

But being too deep in the belly of the beast, he may end up losing more; his life, or even worse… his sanity.

Iblis (Arabic for Devil) is coming soon this summer. (Teaser video)

Here’s a short video, filtered from spoilers that explains the story of the first novel. (Previously on Psychs)

An Echo away from Omega…

So today is the big day… the jigsaw pieces are becoming whole, with only one missing till you can see the full picture. Alpha gave us a video that tells the first story of the series, then came Beta and Charlie to shed a light on the upcoming book and the time of release, and Delta explained the hidden meaning behind my title, Iblis (Arabic for Devil). So what is Echoing through this post?

I will tell you…

This is the last post before revealing the cover. So here we are, Ground-Zero… So before we commence later today, I hope everyone gets debriefed and read the previous posts.

– The Alpha post for the reveal week…

– Beta As It May…

Delta for Devil…

Name your book Iblis (Arabic for Devil) and you are bound to summon THE topic. So why have a name represented evil shared by many religions, cultures and folklores became the same name given to my second book? Let’s go through the high way to Delta and see what light can it shed on Alpha, Beta and Charlie.

First things first, here’s a two minutes and so video that I have created to tell the story of the first book, spoilers free. Through that short presentation we will learn that both our protagonists are at ease and have reached to a point where they can take a short breath. What will happen next is caused by human nature… but funny thing about humans’ is they are always influenced, driven without being aware.

“The Devil is in the details” a quote that is still unknown to who it should be credited to… which gives it a stronger impact. Our human nature governed – and sometimes manipulated – by our brains tends to relate and connect; trying to piece up jigsaws until a picture is formed. That picture can sometimes lead to our own destruction.

This is why today I am about to share another part from what is to come. In the first book of the series, Psychs, I have written this in the beginning.

“Good and Evil has no passport; it wears many skins, speaks in different tongues, and exists everywhere… even in the same person.”

What will be the next installment from the Psychs series brings? Well, that is only a scroll away.

Charlie’s Bit my blog..

Today’s bit is about how timing can have a great and crucial role when it comes to sharing your work. The first post; Alpha, told with images and emotions the story so far; through a video that I have posted to open the door that will lead us towards the end of this week… which would be the prestige date for the book cover of my Devil… or as I have entitled it using one of the many names given to evil; Iblis.

And yesterday, the second… or should I say Beta post revealed one part of the cover; the written part which we readers go through so we can, to some degree, judge the book and check for reader-genre compatibility… which is known as synopsis.

“My only enemy is time” ~ Charlie Chaplin. This is true… but with any war there are rules of engagement, and time, my immortal enemy, you gave me… well, time to recuperate… The delays and the constant work in the clinics had pushed away the second installment in the Psychs series, and when something goes against your imagined agenda, you get to feel frustrated… well… I’ll say this again. God has three answers to prayers; Yes, Not now, and I have something better… I guess The last two applies to what my fingers are trying to say in today’s Charlie’s bit. Time is giving me a chance.

Iblis, the second book of the Psychs series, will become a new summer read… I am aiming for a June release, and a July release worldwide. It is the best time for me where I am since June, July, August and September are the holiday Inn months, and if there is a great timing for my voice to reach ears which are no longer busy, that would be it. And since the title is also Iblis (Arabic for Devil) I think the elevated degrees will set a good mood for the story ;).

So what will I write about tomorrow; the fourth post for the reveal week (Also known as Delta)? I will write about the reasons why I wrote the book, and why Iblis as a title in particular.

The Alpha post for the reveal week…

This is the starting post toward the Omega; the day where I will be revealing thousands of words trapped inside an image that represents my upcoming novel, Iblis (Arabic for Devil)… and since Iblis is not the starting point for the series, I am to reveal the Alpha book, Psychs… the first novel that started it all and lead me here to important and life changing ideas.

Today was intended to be one of those everyday TV shows cliché of “Previously on Psychs Series” Kind of read… or that’s how it supposed to be… but instead… I decided to make a movie out of it, giving my words a little music and some images to amplify the experience. So here we go.

With the second novel at the threshold of becoming a new summer read, entitled ‘Iblis’, it is only right to create a short movie explaining the story so far. No spoilers alert… I chose my words wisely.

For those who found this video intriguing and decided to get more involved with the series, here’s a link from book finder of most of the bookstores where Psychs is only clicks away in both paperback and e-book formats.

Please let me know what you think, and please share with those who might want to find a new read this summer.

‘It begins!’

Hello everyone,

I have been eagerly waiting for this day for almost a year. Today I get to announce the great news.

Iblīs (book 2 in the Psychs series) is now in the first process of publishing. There are basically four:-
1- Editing and proof reading ; which is being carried now by my new editor in Chicago.
2- Reviews: my publisher, AuthorHouse, will send my book to three major reviewer establishments for pre-release reviews.
3- Designing: already have the great idea for that.
And…
4- THE release.

I am feeling more generous today, so I will share two more items from my agenda…
First: Iblīs is more story driven than Psychs; we met the characters in the first book, now, in addition of introducing new ones, Iblīs will be a big step and the spark to what is to come.
Second: I will share the prologue from the book through this link: Iblīs … It will give you a big hint to why the book is entitled Iblīs (Which is Arabic for Devil)

I am glad I have shared this great news with you all, my fingers are too tingly and eager to share more.

have a lovely weekend.

Psychs – A. H. Amin, Author

Love this review of my thriller

Yvonne Mason's Weblog

Psychs – Review by Martha A. Cheves, Author of Stir, Laugh, Repeat; Think With Your Taste Buds; A Book and A Dish

My parents are leaving in an hour for a visit and my little sister always sleeps late during vacations, I couldn’t wait anymore for them to leave. I looked at the spirits surrounding me and said. ‘Let’s talk’ I said, then closed my room’s door. ‘My name is Hassan what’s yours?’ They replied in turns. ‘Mine is Joseph.’ ‘Rodriquez, call me Rod’ Rod gave a wink. ‘Steven Chow.’ ‘Markus Reed, at your service.’ Mark took a bow and pointed at the female ghost to follow. ‘Nice to meet you Hassan, my name is Emma’, she smiled and waved. ‘Sorry for scaring you’ Emma said. ‘It’s ok’ I replied, then my eyes went to the one next in line. ‘Jack.’ ‘Mason.’ The last one to be introduced was a…

A Book and A Dish…

I should explain…

Yes that’s me, and I’m holding what I tried to cook for the first time… I also categorized this post as book review. So what’s happening?

Simple, I received an e-mail from author Martha A. Cheves, the author of ‘A Book and a Dish‘ , ‘Think With Your Taste Buds: Desserts‘ and ‘Stir, Laugh, Repeat‘. Every week she posts one of her recipes and a book review. So guess which book made it to her list?? Yes, mine.

She chose (QUINOA PILAF) as the right dish for this book, branding it as a (Hassan special)… For those who are new to my fiction thriller, Hassan is the name of my main character. It is also the name of my older brother who I created the character in his honor (Read here: A tribute to my hero, my brother). The dish was amazing, and the review… well, you can read it yourselves and see why she was motivated to chose my book with her delicious dish.

‘Psychs’ review by Martha A. Cheves.

I copied the review below in case you don’t like traveling a lot, and as for the recipe, you can get it through the previous link.

My name is Hassan what’s yours?’ They replied in turns. ‘Jack.’ ‘Mason.’ The last one to be introduced was a woman I had first seen behind the glass window, the one who had watched me sleeping when I was admitted. She looked different, they all looked military, and she was the only one who didn’t fit in the picture. And for some reason, she looked very familiar to me. ‘Sara.’ My eyes started to widen. ‘I am your mother dear.’

All through his life Hassan has felt there was always someone watching him. Now and then he would even see a quick movement out of the corner of his eye. It wasn’t until he came to the rescue of a woman and child being beaten by husband only to have the husband bring him near death that he realized his images were real. At least as real as ghosts can be. They had always looked after him but couldn’t communicate, until Hassan came up with an idea. Sign language. That would give he and the ghosts a way of communicating without actually speaking. But Hassan’s ghosts were not only his guardian angels, they became his teachers. Through them he was able to lead a 2nd life that would prove most valuable in years to come.

Adam, also known as Shark, was a Navy Seal that had been held prisoner for years. His capturers were of the worse type. Torture was used more as an entertainment than to acquire information they might need and since Adam’s strong hold was his hands, their first form of torture was to remove his arms leaving him with no method of self-defense. They may have destroyed his body but they never destroyed his mind, soul and determination to live. So, after 13 years of torture, Shark meets Hassan and the battle begins.

Psychs is a book that brings out the strength of mind over body in its desire to live, both through Hassan and Shark. The stories of both that lead up to their story together is one that may sound impossible but with the author’s ability to write, you can see, feel and picture each line as it happens. This is a very well written book and an extremely interesting story. I can actually see this one being made into a movie with someone like Bruce Willis being Hassan. Now I’m impatiently waiting on the next book in the series ‘The Remnant.’

……………………..Wh………….. What happened…. I remember there was an e-mail from my publisher and…. Oh, right.

I have posted last week about how stressful my upcoming week would be not only because of my academic status, but also because of my other life, my life as an author.

My publisher informed me last week that my book ‘Psychs‘ is being reviewed by Kirkus and they will send me the review to have a look at before they place it on their website. I was so frightened that I forwarded it to my young brother and asked him to tell me if it’s good or not.
His reply gave me the courage to open the file myself… I’m so happy right now, the words that should describe me have yet to be discovered.

I can post the review here, but I’d rather link you to their website once it’s out there.

Thank you everyone for your kind thoughts and big boost, I couldn’t have done it without you.

Best wishes for you and all your beloved ones.
