2017… Here We Go!

2016 is about to shut its doors behind me as I tiptoe blindly through our last night and try to ease my way into 2017. As I enter the dark corridor, my path is illuminated by the flashes of memories of 2016, and I can say with confidence that it was my most interesting year. Today I want to say my goodbyes to this wonderful year, though it was bitter on some days, it did prove to be kind at the end.

Here are my top 11 moments for this year:-

1- Moved to a new apartment in China.

2- Found an intern position in a hospital near to My new apartment.

3- Discovered Taobao (Google it)

4- Got to see the forbidden city.

5- Visited the Terra-Cota warriors.

6- Learned Chinese Mandarin.

7- Wrote and composed a new song (you’ll get to hear that in 2017 hopefully)

8- Drew water colored paintings for the first time. (which turned out great)

9- Gathered with all of my brothers and sister at the same time for a while since years (One or more is always missing because we live in different countries).

10- Posted my first scary story on Halloween. (2 minutes read).

11- Published my new inspirational book, Kima.
And that is just from the tip of my head. I do have a big moment that me and others are working on right now, but I plan to announce about that next year… but you know what? Here’s a hint.

Happy new year everyone, and I hope for all the best wishes for the coming year.

My Trip To Beijing…

Part 1: The train to the past and present.

I knew I would find Adventure in China, but I never thought it would be that epic… it went to the point where I slayed a dragon; It will make sense in my upcoming posts, but today I will write about the beginning of my trip to Beijing and what I have done on my first day.

It has been a very long time since I have traveled by train. The sense of serenity as we moved toward our destination gave way to my thoughts to speak to me. I was glad I had my notebook with me to fill its half blanked pages.

When I arrived, I was still full of energy and ready to explore. So my first walk in Beijing was through the streets of Qian men (Front Gate). The streets were a trip to the past, a gate from the ancient ways to the new ones. As a stranger to the new land, I walked, I could do nothing but walk. As I stride through the paradox, I was reminded by William Blake’s Poem; Auguries of innocence “To see a World in a grain of sand, And Heaven in a wild flower…. Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand, And Eternity in an hour.”

The architectures of the buildings housed the spirits of the past while the living dwell in the modern shops below them. I was guided to this location; China’s oldest cinema, the birth place of the now ever-growing Chinese movie industry.

I have then moved on to Shi Cha hai streets. The night life over there is magical. I loved every minute of it. The street was filled with cafes and bars with artists performing at every corner, and restaurants and attraction at every location, serving Islamic food, Western food and traditional food too. I walked around until my legs couldn’t paddle on the ground anymore. So I decided to fuel my body with a mix of traditional and Islamic food; the famous Chinese hot-pot… absolutely delicious.

As I left the place, I came to an epiphany, a sudden thought emerged through the sea of diverse people.

“It is not about eliminating others’ ideologies… it is not about who gets to survive at the end… life is about coexisting together… there will always be good and bad, but their shouldn’t be wars… I believe we one day won’t fight against each other… but instead fight within ourselves to accept one another.”

Have a blessed day my readers.. I will post to you more about my magical trip very soon.

My New Drawing… 1

Staring for hours in front of the blank paper, I wondered what should I capture? What part of my spirit will leave me to be framed after I swipe my brush on her for the last time. And then I thought… what if she was thinking the same?

art01

I noticed a shape was forming… a blur that seems to hold a camera… I worked my way to see her more clearly…

art02

After She was doing the same. But I couldn’t know what was she trying to capture?

Focusing her lens on me, was started to know what we were doing, who we were.

Shall Tease No More…

It is said that there are two ways the universe can really tests you… either through having nothing happening to you, or everything at once. It shows what kind of a person you are, let’s you know what is missing from you, and gives you the option to choose what do about it. I have mentioned lately that I had just recovered from my lung infection, breathing normally had never felt more luxurious to me, but during my days of despair, I worked on preparing a new idea that did not belong to my usual and known medium, which consist of housing those thoughts inside the warmth covers of a novel book. My new idea will not be a tease anymore, and today I will reveal not only what the idea is… but also a big news about that idea…. all that will be revealed in my next post… just kidding… maybe… we’ll see… so, here we go.

I have been working on a new series for a comic book, and as any other work, the logical action taken after having the idea is making the fantasy into reality. I have searched for artists to help me make the day dreams I had on paper to be visible, artistic and… well, comicky (if that’s a real word). I sadly did not find anyone close-by who is willing to do the work. Drawing approximately 180-250 images per issue is something of a bother that many would consider twice before agreeing to make, especially since the author in question is doing a comic book for the first time. I was having two tests at once, fighting an illness, and fighting my way through the comic books’ scene. So, eventually… I decided to do what I will reveal in the next post…. still kidding.

Confined inside my room, I taught myself how to draw, I viewed a lot of tutorial videos on youtube… though they usually confused me, here’s why…

I eventually learned to some extent how to show a story through drawing. And so, my story telling methods had leveled up, my new upgrade is now realized.

And so… with no further ado… I present to you… Team Genesis… my new comic book series.

cover post

Humanity’s lives have always been prone to change, and when a powerful being comes into existence, the world order is reformed. Three kinds of divisions have became known.  Some worshiped that being as their new divine king, and he was called by the name he gave for himself; Seth. Others hide and stay out of his and his army’s way, paying for their safety, living in fear from his wrath. But others… fewer as they are becoming, are still leading the fight against him and his D.S. (Devil’s seeds). But whenever the odds shift to their advantage, Seth comes in and brings them to their knees… right before he brings their heads to the ground.

Team Genesis is the story of a team that will try to find out the origin of the being Seth, in hopes of finding a way to stop him. But in order for that to happen, Team Genesis must be formed first. this is the story of the person who made the final cut into that team.

Now, for the big news… I’ll have to postpond that one till tomorrow. I realized that posting everything about what I do will be me talking too much. So this time, I’m not teasing, I’m just giving you some rest. Until next time.

The kid within us….

Art by Kakotomirai

Art by Kakotomirai

I think this is kind of refreshing and I believe everyone should do that once in a while.

Today I went to the grocery… Yes, we writers need food too… It was early and the streets were empty, so I did something like what’s in the picture; I imagined something abnormal in a normal place. It is a good exercise for the brain, you get to give your creative part lying in there a start up.

Try it out, even if you are inside your house. It will revive the kid inside you. That kid is really important for us, it is a part inside you that will never gets old and will always keep you entertained.
Having a kid’s imagination with an adult’s means of expressing those imaginations is what differentiate a true creative artist from an artist. Art has many ways to reveal itself, through writing, through music, through… well, you can fill in if you want to, but art will always start from a picture from your head, imagined to be seen by your eyes, imagined to be heard through your ears, tasted through your lips… imagined.

I will look through the window after this post, to see through my inner kid’s eyes my words disturbing the clouds as it leaves to you.

Everything is permitted when we are creative… Part 4

‘Be aware of how much can you accomplish… you will realize that you have been a stranger to yourself the whole time’

How do you think that sounds?

Why not? You already have a pen…

By a simple idea you can make our hearts flutter…

A whole new meaning for the phrase ‘Honey kisses’

Even though created momentarily, its effect is grand…

After all, they are only there when the sun wants them out, so why not dressing them up?

It won’t be associated with danger anymore…

You have a flashlight and you have a creative mind… make our jaws drop.

Your art can make us more responsible.

A camera, your friends and your imagination… that’s all you needed all along.
